We’ll cover ways to get the most out of the trainings you conduct. Together, we look at special tactics to keep your trainees engaged and curious. Over the course of two days, you learn the secrets to being a master trainer.
Who will benefit most from the course?
The great thing about this course is the waterfall effect it creates. Essentially, it starts a chain reaction. Initially, the trainer who attends the course benefits. Whether they work as a full-time trainer or they’re a manager or supervisor with lots of responsibilities—training being just one of them—the individuals who take part in this course gain more confidence and gain new tools for delivering and facilitating incredible trainings.
After that, the trainees of those who attend this course benefit. They enjoy memorable trainings that engage and create deeper learning, that capture their interest. Trainers that go through this course are able take advantage of their new knowledge about learning styles, the psychology of memory, communication strategies and wealth of other special tactics so that their own students reap the rewards.
Following on from this, the student’s organisation as a whole benefits. Everyone wins.
What specific topics will the Train the Trainer course cover?
This course comprises four different modules. Module 1 really focuses on the participants themselves. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to training. In the first module, we look at what we have to offer. We assess our own training strengths and set goals for ourselves—whether we’re a beginning trainer just starting out, an advanced trainer who wants to enhance their trainings to achieve specific objectives, or somewhere in between. We also introduce the principles of memorable trainings and begin to look at training tactics.
Module 2 covers the nuts and bolt of training. It’s basically a how-to session. We address all the parts of a training session from planning and room set-up to presentations to giving feedback to trainees and assessing their progress.
Module 3 focuses on ‘power tools’—high-powered ways to elevate trainings from mediocre to outstanding. We explore the power of stories and the power of metaphor. In addition, we look at the power of questions and how to skillfully transform trainees’ difficult questions into great learning opportunities.
In Module 4, we journey to the future. We talk about the increasingly important role virtual trainings will play tomorrow and the way they’ve already become a major phenomenon today. The world is digital and interconnected. People collaborate remotely. In the wake of Covid, working models have changed dramatically, with remote work and hybrid models becoming much more common. Trainings can be synchronous or asynchronous, in person or online, and virtual trainings actually offer a variety of unique benefits. We’ll delve into the difference between online and in-person presentations and how the lessons we learned in the previous modules can be adapted to new learning scenarios.
What might surprise those who attend this course?
The people who attend this course will probably be surprised by how much fun they’ll have and what they’re really capable of. Training is all about engagement so we’ll model what we’re teaching. We’ll have fun as we learn how to make our own trainees have fun.
We’ll unlock your hidden talents. We’ll explore ways to leverage your existing strengths and unite them with proven teaching tactics. Joining your talents with secrets of master trainers, you’ll step away from the course with a powerful new arsenal. Attendees will see the difference in their very next trainings.
