On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, Warren Stanworth, the Academic Dean, is thrilled to extend a warm welcome to the new students as they embark on their journey in the Global Hospitality Management programme at AIHM.

Climate change impacts every industry. In the hospitality industry, this is powerfully true. We host our guests in some of the world’s most beautiful environments. Amidst such amazing backdrops, it’s hard to not consider the effects the travel and hotel business play in the big picture.

This coming week we welcome a new cohort of students for their very first semester of AIHM’s Bachelor Business Administration in Global Hospitality Management. As always, this is one of my favourite times of the year. If you are one of the new members of our community, I want you to know how special this week is for all of us. Your passion, your vision and your potential to transform the hospitality field inspire us. As we embark on this journey together, I’d like to share with you and our other readers, the ‘why’ behind AIHM, the deeply held beliefs that drive everything we do.

While things are finally starting to change and organisations such as AIHM are helping to make a difference in Thailand and beyond, the lack of female leaders in hospitality is still a crucial problem. There’s a massive career opportunity hiding in plain sight, and those who know the secret can reap the rewards. Asia’s hospitality business is one of the region’s fastest growing industries. According to the global business intelligence platform Statista, annual hotel revenue in Asia is expected to reach US$ 144 billion in 2023.

Naureen Ahmed is the founder of Inspiring Women in Hospitality, an organisation whose aim is to share the stories of inspirational women within the hospitality industry. A global hospitality professional, a multicultural inclusive leader and an AEHL graduate, she believes each one of us has a unique story and journey to share that will inspire us all.
