Why ‘AIHM Higher’?

If you’re reading this post, you may have noticed you’re on the AIHM Higher blog. That’s what we call this little ‘digital press’ you’re on. The AIHM Higher blog is where our community of educators, learners and guest experts share their visions and experiences.

It’s a place for AIHM faculty to express their insights and explorations into hospitality education, business pedagogy and the constantly evolving dynamics of the industry. 

This blog is also a platform for our wonderful AIHM students to talk about their lives inside and outside the classroom. How are they growing and shaping their plans for the future? What are their internships teaching them about their talents and interests? What opportunities are they creating for themselves with the support of AIHM’s lecturers and our dedicated team? What is it like to study hospitality management in one of the destinations defining the hospitality industry of tomorrow?

As our community explores these questions and topics, their posts come under the banner of “AIHM Higher”. Obviously this is a play on words, a phrase that unites our name—the Asian Institute of Hospitality Management—with the notion of aiming higher. But at a deep and meaningful level, what does "AIHM Higher" represent? What do we mean when we encourage our students, scholars and readers to "AIHM Higher"? I’d like to take this opportunity to explain it to you because this isn’t a phrase we take lightly. In fact, it’s central to all that we do. Please allow me to meditate on our mantra for brief moment.

AIHM Higher: Our Institute’s Mantra

"AIHM Higher" is the guiding mantra of our Institute, capturing the essence of ambition and ongoing enhancement that defines the Asian Institute of Hospitality Management (AIHM). It concisely communicates our dedication to excellence in every aspect of our educational and operational endeavours.
