Dear Family,

You always taught me to think carefully before making big decisions. And to be honest, this decision took me some time. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want for my future…and how to get there in a way that makes sense for our family.

You know how much I want to study in the UK. I’ve watched videos of students walking across campuses like the University of Manchester, Bristol, Leeds… and I can imagine myself there. But I also know it’s a big step—not just for me, but for you too, for all of us as a family.

That’s why I want to start my journey here in Bangkok, at AIHM College. I’ve decided to apply for the  NCUK International Year One programme at AIHM. It’s one year in Thailand, and after that, I can go straight into the second year of a UK university. It saves time. It saves money. And most importantly, it gives me time to grow.

It’s Not a Shortcut. It’s a Smart Step.

I know you might be wondering: is this a “real” UK programme?

The answer is yes. NCUK is a well-known global pathway organisation with more than 60 partner universities including some of the most respected schools in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. If I finish the programme successfully, I’m guaranteed a spot at one of these international universities.

Students who finish the International Year One (or the International Foundation Year, if they start earlier) can transfer directly into world-class bachelor’s programmes in Business, Accounting, Computer Science, Events Management, and more. These NCUK programmes are a smart way to gain admission to top schools in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. 

Students who follow the NCUK path are not just accepted—they thrive. Because of the way the programme is designed, when I transfer to the UK, I’ll be more ready to succeed.

I Want to Study in English, But I Want to Feel Ready.

One of the things I worry about most is my English. My language skills are okay in class, but when I imagine living abroad… I get nervous.

At AIHM, the NCUK programme is delivered entirely in English. However, unlike starting off in the UK, I’ll also have academic support, English development, and mentors who understand what it’s like to come from a Thai or Southeast Asian background. The NCUK programme at AIHM College is international but familiar. I’ll build confidence before I have to use it in real life: in a visa interview, in a British classroom, or at my first part-time job overseas.

It’s hard for me to explain exactly how, but I know what’s on your mind. You’ve never said it directly, but I hear it in your questions. I can sense what you’re worried about.

Will I be okay so far from home?

Will I be responsible?

Will the education you’re paying for really lead to something?

That’s why this programme makes so much sense. AIHM College is located at the Avani+ Riverside Campus in Bangkok. The school is modern and close to home. I can live with you while I study, or I can stay nearby. I’ll still be growing up but with you close by to see it.

Once I complete one year at AIHM, I won’t have just a piece of paper. I’ll have a guaranteed spot at a university that will open doors anywhere in the world. The investment will mean something.

You’ve both said it so many times: “Reputation matters”. I know you’re right. I was listening to you closely even if you didn’t realise it.

The NCUK partner universities are well-known and well-ranked. Employers know them. Graduate schools respect them. NCUK has been helping students like me gain a top-quality international education for over 35 years.

AIHM is a fairly new school. I’ve done my research though. AIHM is partnered with the best. They’ve already been running the NCUK programme for a while. Now, they’re taking it to the next level, and they’re officially listed as a recognised NCUK Study Centre. That’s a big deal. It means certified quality. It means recognition. It means trust by some of the world’s other top educational institutions.
