Welcome to the start of something truly special. Today isn’t just your first day at AIHM—it’s the moment you chose growth, ambition, and endless possibility. Whether your sights are set on global business, luxury hospitality, or academic success, your journey begins right here.

Today marks the beginning of something meaningful. You’ve made an important decision—to step forward, to invest in your future, and to join a community built on ambition, curiosity and care. Many of you have come to AIHM to pursue a business degree that opens doors to luxury hotels, global brands and leadership roles across continents. Others amongst you chose AIHM to build a foundation for further international study, to sharpen your professional skills and boost your career, or to grow your confidence and abilities in English. This week is your starting line, the first steps in an amazing race to new life stages and new levels of success. We are delighted that you’ve chosen to start here.

Whether you are joining us for the BBA, the CIHA, a BTEC Diploma, or the EBAS Programme, you are now part of a remarkable and growing academic community.

You have come to AIHM with hopes. Some of you dream of becoming managers of luxury hotels or launching your own hospitality ventures. Many of you aspire to travel the world. Some of you may be here to take your first steps into higher education or to return to study after years in the industry, seeking fresh inspiration and advancement. You might have come to AIHM to deepen your skills, to rise within your current workplace, or to gain the confidence and qualifications required to step into new professional arenas.

To our BBA and CIHA students—many of you have taken bold steps to be here. You have chosen to invest in a future that demands knowledge, creativity and resilience. You come to us from across Thailand and around the world. The diversity of backgrounds and ambitions you bring to AIHM gives our community its unique energy. You are about to make unbreakable friendships and invaluable connections.

To our BTEC Diploma students—for many of you, this is your first experience of studying in an international environment. You have chosen a path that will equip you with practical knowledge, hands-on learning, and the credentials needed to pursue higher education, whether here or abroad. This is the beginning of a journey that may take you to university campuses across the globe—or further into the world of business and hospitality, if you so choose.

To our EBAS students—your path is one of preparation and promise. You are building the language skills and academic confidence needed to thrive in the BBA programme. Success in an English-language, international learning environment takes courage and effort. I congratulate you for the commitment you have already shown by taking this first step.

To the parents and families who are sending your young people to us—thank you. We know what this moment represents for you. It is a leap of faith, and it is a powerful act of love. To the employers and sponsors supporting our Certificate students—thank you for recognising their potential and placing your trust in us. We are fully committed to honouring that trust.

I have had the joy of teaching and leading in a number of exceptional schools across Europe and Asia, and I can tell you whole-heartedly that AIHM is an extremely special place. Our school— with its beating heart right in the pulse of the city, tucked seamlessly within two incredible hotels, with the life of the city flowing by on the Chao Phraya River, with Bangkok’s energetic skyline rolling out from our windows—no other institute of higher learning in the world is like it. We study and grow together in a living community where academic excellence is balanced with human warmth. We believe education is not only about what one knows, but who one becomes in the process. You will be challenged here, yes—but you will also be supported, mentored and encouraged every step of the way.

My advice, as you begin, is this: be open. Say yes to new ideas! Say yes to learning across cultures! Say yes to becoming the person you wish to be—not only in career, but in character!
