There are some things about living and working in Thailand that the books will tell you, but there's a lot of other stuff that you really have to experience to learn. I hope that my experience having worked with hundreds of companies over the past 25 years in Thailand and across the region can help you avoid some of the pitfalls that many of them have fallen into and broaden your view.
By the end of the workshop, I hope that you'll start noticing things around you, and maybe you'll see some things that you didn't even know were happening.
How do you implement global corporate policies which on the surface may not really align with Thai culture or the Thai workplace? Yeah, I know maybe you've told everybody that you've got an “open-door policy”, but will that really fly in Thailand? Believe it or not: there's a way to make it happen. But you might have to go about it a little bit differently than what you would in the West.
The subtitle of my book and series Cracking Thai Fundamentals is “A Thai Operating System for Your Mind”, and that's what we're going to do during the workshop. We're going to look at installing that cultural operating system so it's running in the background and you'll be equipped with what you need to have success while working and living in the Kingdom.
I've run this programme and permutations of this programme for over 25 years in Thailand and have even run programmes for the Thai government to help diplomats hit the ground running when they're doing their posting in Thailand.
